From royal Mysore palaces to misty Nilgiri tea gardens — our 3-day Bangalore to Ooty cab service takes you through two of South India's most beloved destinations in supreme comfort. Via Mysore, Bandipur forest and Coonoor.
Ooty (Udhagamandalam), the Queen of South Indian hill stations, sits at an elevation of 2,240 metres in the Nilgiri Blue Mountains of Tamil Nadu — a world of emerald tea gardens, eucalyptus forests, pine-scented air and cool misty mornings that feels a universe away from Bangalore's heat. Our Bangalore to Ooty cab service takes you there in the most scenic and rewarding way possible — via the royal city of Mysore.
Founded as a British summer retreat in 1821 by John Sullivan of the Madras Civil Service, Ooty quickly became the preferred escape for colonial officers from across South India. Today it retains a charming blend of colonial architecture, Badaga tribal culture and Toda heritage, alongside its world-famous 55-acre Government Botanical Garden, the heritage Nilgiri Mountain Railway (a UNESCO World Heritage site), serene Ooty Lake and the highest peak in the Nilgiris — Doddabetta at 2,637 metres.
Our 3-day itinerary pairs Ooty with a full day in Mysore — one of India's most magnificent heritage cities — and includes a scenic drive through Bandipur National Forest, where elephant sightings are common along the road. The return journey on Day 3 includes a full exploration of Coonoor, Ooty's charming smaller neighbour, famous for Sim's Park, Lamb's Rock and the Dolphin's Nose viewpoint.
Your cab departs after breakfast from Bangalore on Day 1. The itinerary covers Mysore on Day 1, Ooty on Day 2, and Coonoor plus the return to Bangalore on Day 3.
After breakfast, check out from your Bangalore hotel and depart for Mysore. En route, stop at the historic island town of Srirangapatna for a glimpse of Tipu Sultan's legacy, before spending a full afternoon exploring Mysore's magnificent royal heritage. The day ends with the spectacular musical fountain show at Brindavan Gardens.
After breakfast, check out from Mysore and begin the scenic mountain drive to Ooty. The route passes through the magnificent Bandipur Tiger Reserve — a protected area teeming with elephants, spotted deer and sometimes leopards visible from the road. On arrival in Ooty, dive straight into the hill station's most celebrated sights.
The final day begins with a morning visit to charming Coonoor — Ooty's smaller, quieter neighbour — famous for its dramatic viewpoints and pristine Sim's Park. Back in Ooty, visit the Tea Factory & Museum and ascend the highest point in the Nilgiris — Doddabetta Peak at 2,637 metres. Depart after lunch for the return drive to Bangalore.
